Brendan,



I have to disagree that a lab would need to use all of the organisms listed in this case.  For the Growth Promoting and Indicative Properties of the media it clearly states Burkholderia cepacia, Burkholderia cenocepacia, or Burkholderia multivorans.  I have interpreted the use of the word or to mean that you can pick one of the three organisms to use to for your Growth Promoting and Indicative portion of the testing.  For the Inhibitory testing, you must use both of the organisms listed to show inhibition of the P. aeruginosa gram negatives and the S. aureus gram positives.



This is the same situation as in the USP 62 Table 1 for Growth Promotion where you can choose one of the two strains of Salmonella (serovar typhimurium or serovar abony) to use for your RV Broth and XLD Agar QC checks.
