Did you have any chance to compare your CA with the ready to use one at the same time? If ready to use media results are more consistent, I recommend reviewing your media preparation steps.

We make our cetrimide plates in-house and add glycerol, as the instructions state. Our growth promotion counts are really low (typically <10) while on TSA or other media, they range in the 20s and 30s.
Does anyone else have this issue and if so, any suggestions as to why this is happening and/or what to do about it, if anything? I assume the other media, being non-selective, provides more nutrition for the Pseudomonas. I know that "<100 CFU" is the USP requirement for GP, but if a count is 1/1 on duplicate plates, is this acceptable?
