BioMerieux carries Quantiswabs (flocked nylon w/ excellent recovery & release properties) and XtraBioswabs (wound Dacron w/ direct inoculation into TSB) available. Microworks carries a MSSS swab. All come gamma irradiated and are cleanroom compliant.

BD & Remel have available culture swabs - wet-sterile with PBS or Ames medium. Yes, you need to use an item such as this. Inspectors want these validated as well as the media they go into. They expect onto a plate and broth. These are our experiences in order to be within compliance.

Subject: [PMFLIST] Sterile Wet Swab For environmental monitoring

Hi evreyone,

>
I am working for a pharmaceutical company. We inspected last week. The auditor said " you should use "ready to use sterile swab"".
We already use to texwipe tx761 swab. And we sterilized them with wet. But she doesn't want it.
What is your opinion for this situation or what do you use?

>
Thank you...
