Dear Kate,
In terms of testing towelettes for disinfectant activity the following is
recommended:
1. to test the towelette disifectant efficacy using a simulated use test,
inoculate the surface of silicone rubber coupons with challenge organisms.
Apply the towelette and determine log reduction after the pre-determine
time point.
2. to test the antimicrobial in the towelette for efficacy, we recommend
that you either assay for the antimicrobial and determine tthe efficacy of
this concentration in vivo, or inoculate the towelette and perform a log
reduction study with appropiate controls.
