     Jeff,
Unless you have serious doubts about your container/closure system:
Just immerse the vials (after flip-cap removal) in a dish of a
disinfectant solution (most places I've worked use a quaternary
ammonium solution for this purpose). Ater adequate contact time, line
the vials up top-down on a sterile absorbent wipe or two to dry the
excess quat off before penetrating the septum.

Members:

If you perform sterility testing in a non-isolator situation, how do you
disinfect the septum after removal of the flip off cap? Do you use an
alcohol wipe?, or spray sterile alcohol on a sterile wiper, immerse the
vial into a disinfectant, use a sporicide? Other methods?

Thanks for your responses,
