During the initial validation all colonies from surfaces, air and personnel
samples should be cultured. In the twice a year revalidation ID all colonies
in the LAF and representative colonies in the other areas. The representative
colonies are compared to the organisms found in the initial validation to
determine the microflora of the aseptic core is stable or new organisms are
being introduced.

In routine environmental monitoring the colonies isolated should be ID on a
set frequency, at least once per month, perferable weekly.
