Dear:Lakshmi,
I think you mean Plate count agar , (no thing called pour plate agar) Generally,
you have to proceed a comparative study between TSA,PCA,R2A Agars 
TO Determine which of them will  give the best recovery  at a time at which no 
more increasing in the count occurs
then 
you decide to use it instead of oters

The pharmaceutical water generated at site must be verified to determine the
best conditions (nutritional and incubation conditions) that recover the
maximum number/type of organisms in a reasonable time.
